DOUG
WINGO • principal
For
24 years Doug has worked
as a fundraiser, manager
and communications expert
for a wide range of non-profit
organizations, in addition
to serving on numerous boards.
He served as the development
director for several organizations
and as a major gifts fundraiser
at the American Foundation
for AIDS Research before
founding Wingo, Inc., where
he has worked with over
50 local, national and international
organizations engaged in
social and cultural change.
Doug is a development generalist,
with extensive experience
in creating and implementing
successful, systematic development
and donor communication
campaigns designed to increase
and diversify income for
a wide range of organizations,
from those just getting
off the ground to those
that have been active for
decades. He understands
fundraising as advocacy
and focuses on the role
relationship-building plays
in successful, long-term
fundraising. As a graphic
designer, Doug communicates
a case for support with
modern, compelling, cost-effective
visual materials. He is
also a painter and a writer
and a graduate of both the
College of William and Mary
and the Harvard Divinity
School. He lives in New
York City and Hudson, NY.
JESSICA
CROMEEK • associate
Jessica
has worked for and connected
with a number of nonprofits
dedicated to social justice,
including the National Gay
and Lesbian Task Force and
Campus Action. As an undergraduate
at Union College, where
she studied Political Theory
and worked in the Visual
Arts Department, she extensively
researched small nonprofits
and their role in funding
cancer research. Jessica
is an activist, and she
has planned innovative events
to promote progressive discourse.
In 2006, Jessica served
as an Honors Fellow with
the Political Science Department
where she assisted in teaching
an introductory course in
American Politics. That
year, Jessica co-created
a Women's
Political Science Book Club
to increase female participation
in undergraduate level courses.
Jessica, who resided in
Washington D.C. in 2005,
worked as a Creating Change
Fellow with the National
Gay and Lesbian Task Force
to help plan their annual
Creating Change Conference,
the national grassroots
organizing LGBT conference.
She has studied art and
architecture in Florence,
Italy, and has recently
settled in Queens, NY. She
considers traveling, singing,
and writing poetry as some
of her favorite leisure
activities.
CHRISTOPHER
POLITAN • consultant
Christopher
Politan is an accomplished
non-profit manager, with
experience
in making non-profits
more efficient and successful
through resource development
and strategic planning.
He has worked with organizations
in both New York and
Washington, DC, building
institutional
capacity through board
development, individual
and institutional
giving, special events
and marketing. As a community
volunteer, Christopher
has served in various
capacities on committees
and non-profit boards,
including
Project Create, a unique
community-based arts
enrichment program for
children living in transitional
housing in Washington,
DC. Christopher initiated
strategic planning at
the board level and helped
develop
long-term development
partnerships, consistent
with his commitment to
excellence in arts education
and advocacy for underserved
populations.
Recently, he has completed
a two-year tenure as
the Co-Chair
and Co-President of the
International Gay and
Lesbian Aquatics Association
(IGLA), where he developed
and began implementation
of a five-year strategic
plan.. |
